Aesop's Fables And Various Myths

Ok, so with my freetalking classes, one of my favorite things to do is pick a story and have them start reading it, then we can go over any unfamiliar vocab and discuss the the things in the story. I've been using some of my favorite myths and fables. The great thing is you can find the same story at different levels of difficulty depending on where you go to find it.

http://www.longlongtimeago.com/llta_fables_lionmouse.html   This site has a number of Aesops Fables in a basic-to-intermediate level. It has a sprinkling of a few longer words intermixed with simpler language, but has good basic cartoony images to help with context and comprehension.

http://aesopfables.com/aesopsel.html  Has a number of fables. Some of the stories are only a few lines, some are a number of paragraphs, but the language is fairly basic.

http://greece.mrdonn.org/myths.html   This one's good for Greek myths, they've been rewritten specifically for children so the adults-only stuff appears to have been removed. Fair warning though, these can be a little long.
